Glass etching is easier than you think especially when you have a cutter to make the stencil. Its a great way to make personalized gifts for family, friends & teachers.
There are a couple things that are important to know if you are going to etch for the first time
1. Some older pans & specialty glass may not take the etching cream
2. To make the stencil use adhesive vinyl, stencil adhesive or contact paper (my favorite). It is important to keep in mind that you are going to weed or remove the parts you want to expose to the etching cream
3. Always apply etching on outside of object, you do not want it on the inside where it will be exposed to food
4. If you are putting an image on the bottom, you will most likely want to mirror the image so that it will look correct when you look down on it
5. Glass dishes can be washed in the dish washer after etching
6. Be careful when applying the etching cream to protect your work surface, wear gloves & avoid getting the etching cream an anything other than the area you desire to etch
7. Follow the instructions specific to the etching cream you are using
